Fashola Inaugurates Governing Council Of College Of Primary Education, Epe
May 25, 2009 - Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Monday inaugurated the new Governing Council of the State College of Primary Education in Noforija, Epe with a reminder that the new members should see the assignment as a call to service.
Governor Fashola who was represented by his Deputy, Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan at the short ceremony which took place at the Conference room of the Lagos House, Ikeja, added that the track record of each appointee informed the latest appointments.
He reminded the new appointees that the primary education is the basic foundation for the educational development of the individual and that government expects the new members to reenact the various feats they have performed at their various callings in the sector.
Governor Fashola also told the new council members to carry the management of the institution along while it also listens to the students in all its policy actions.
He urged the members to work as a team to ensure that the lot of teachers whom the institution produces is considerably improved, promising that the State Government would continue to give needed support.
While responding on behalf of the new members, the chairperson and former Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Risikat Akesode promised that the members shall be guided by probity, accountability and integrity in the discharge of their onerous duty.
The new members of the governing council sworn in are Mrs. Risikat Akesode as the Chairman, Prince Adewunmi Shobowale Benson, Mrs Funmi Jaiyeola, Mr Olasunkanmi Mesu, Engineer Sikiru Seriki and Mr. Anthonio Oguntimehin as members.
