Fashola Expresses Deep Shock Over Death Of Otunba Dipo Dina

Jan 26, 2010 - Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the sudden transition of the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress during the 2007 elections in Ogun State, Otunda Dipo Dina.

In a letter of condolence to the widow, Mrs Adenike Dipo Dina, signed by Governor Fashola, he said he was deeply horrified by the dastardly act and feels a sense of personal loss at the death of Dipo Dina who has in the spirit of the Action Congress pursued justice with doggedness, forthrightness and integrity.

The Governor added: “Losing a husband, a father and a bread winner in any circumstance could be painful and is doubly so when a man of peace gets cut down violently”.

He explained that he is however convinced and urged the widow and other members of the family left behind to take solace in the fact that Otunba Dipo Dina lived a fulfilled life which, though short, was remarkable and worthy of emulation.

Said he: “On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, please accept my heartfelt condolences. We are one with you in prayers at this moment of sorrow and pain.”

The Governor prayed that God in his infinite mercy will comfort the widow and give her the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
