St. Saviour’s School Welcomes Gov Fashola

WELCOME ADDRESS BY THE CHAIRMAN ST SAVIOUR'S SCHOOL EBUTE METTA BOARD OF MANAGEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE VISIT OF THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE HIS EXCELLENCY BABATUNDE RAJI FASHOLA (SAN).
His Excellency. All other protocols observed. On behalf of the Board of Management of St. Saviour’s School Ebute Metta, I wish to welcome you and your team to the oldest private primary school in Nigeria. We have kept the dreams of our founding fathers and striven to improve standards continually. For instance, we are the first school in Nigeria to incorporate lCT and Music into our curriculum.
It is indeed an honour to have you visit with us today, a visit which is at the instance of our Headboy - Eniola Olajuwon. This shows that you are a loving, responsive and caring leader and Father, committed to the interest of our children who are our future. No wonder that by your leadership role and performance in providing the dividends of democracy, you stand out as a role model. We believe this would be evident as you interact with our children and hope you would leave a lasting positive impression on them.
Members: Mr. Tom O. B. Ogboi (Chairman), Chief (Mrs.) M. Senbore (Secretary), Mrs. Funmi Onafowokan (Treasurer), Mrs. E. U. Otah (Headmistress), Dr. (Mrs.) N. E. Nwosu, Dr. B. A. Adesanya, Engr. G. F. C. Ezeani, Mrs. N. Mba-Imoke.
Our school has commenced the celebration of her diamond jubilee and as part of this anniversary, the Board is supporting Lagos State public schools in our locality by the donation of school tables and chairs. We have contacted the Local Government and expect these furniture to be ready by the end of March 2010. We hope that His Excellency would find time, out of his busy schedule to honour our invitation by attending at least one of the activities marking this anniversary.
Our school is a good corporate citizen of Lagos State. We pay our taxes promptly and we hope that His Excellency would consider recognizing us as a role model for other schools in the State during his annual tax award programme.
It is our hope that this visit would be the beginning of a long lasting relationship between our School and the Lagos State Government.
We wish you success and once again, on behalf of the Board, School and the children express our gratitude for your finding time to visit with us today.
Thank you.
