Shitta-Bey: A Political Titan Exits In A Blaze Of Glory - Fashola

May 4, 2010 - Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Tuesday night paid a condolence visit to the Victoria Island home of a leader of the Action Congress and elder statesman, Senator Sikiru Ayodeji Shitta-Bey who passed away on Tuesday.
 
Governor Fashola who was received by the family members described late Alhaji Shitta- Bey as “a colourful advocate of law, a dogged fighter for democracy and a distinguished politician of all orders”.
 
The Governor while paying tributes to the late politician who was a Second Republic Senator on the platform of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) described him as a political titan who exited the stage in a blaze of glory and achievements adding that he would be sorely missed.
 
“Lagos and its development was his life’s passion. He gave everything to support the creation and sustenance of this state and stood up to be counted every time her interests were threatened”, Governor Fashola wrote in the condolence register.
 
He also prayed to Allah to grant him Al-Janah Firdaus.
