Tribute To The Late President, His Excellency, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'adua

May 6, 2010 - A will to live, demonstrated by courage and an immense capacity to endure pain with dignity bows to mortality.

President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua has fought a stoic battle against ill health and precedes us, to fulfill man's ultimate covenant with the creator.

He was a man who was passionate about his country. He wanted to change things. He demonstrated respect for all who came across him and I bear testimony of his decency and courtesy even when we disagreed.

I believe history will be kind in recording his legacy, in recognizing his health limitations as a material consideration in defining his achievements.

May his truly gentle soul rest in peace and may Almighty Allah (SWT) grant him Aljanah firdaus.
